diversity database
With a three-part initiative and the generous support of CTVglobemedia, the BEAC will make a tangible change to how the broadcasting industry responds and accepts students of diversity. With a strong mentoring directory, demonstrations of innovative educational tools involving emerging technology, creative workshops, and a comprehensive study, the BEAC can support our broadcast partners in the education and training of all of our future broadcasters.
Part 1 – Mentoring Database
The BEAC Diversity Mentoring Database for our members, which they may share with their students. The industry mentors are volunteers who will share advice and their insights about a more accessible and diverse industry.
Part 2 - Industry Success Stories
Industry success stories, featuring video clips produced by media students from across the country will allow students to hear motivating stories from across the country. Several membership institutions have added to their curriculum this idea of video and audio projects profiles on diverse individuals represented within our industry.
There are projects going on across the country such as NSCC, Fanshawe and BCIT and the profiles will be evaluated as course work and be selected for the BEAC website. One of those projects in Dartmouth, NS (NSCC) has attracted further sponsorship with Rogers Television (Nova Scotia), donating $1000 prize for the best profile done at Nova Scotia Community College.
